The Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW), Ministry of Defence, issued this extension on 27 July 2026.
What This Letter Actually Modifies
This isn't a new policy — it's the latest in a sequence of deadline extensions on the same underlying issue: getting ECHS's empanelled Healthcare Organisations (HCOs) to formally sign onto the revised CGHS rate structure. The letter traces back through a chain of earlier orders:

In partial modification of Para 4(c) of the original 5 December 2025 letter, and the corresponding paragraphs of the March and April 2026 letters, the deadline for executing the MoA has now been extended to 30 September 2026 — specifically to give ECHS time to put the necessary arrangements in place to actually implement the MoA.
Why This Keeps Getting Extended

- The portal for new hospitals to apply for ECHS empanelment is set to reopen before that same date
